  • Baboucarr Khan
    Managing Director

    Before joining Reliance, Baboucarr was the Head of Consumer Banking at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in The Gambia and a member of the bankís management team. Baboucarr managed a revenue budget of $7 million (about 60% of SCBís budget) and a team of 70 people with overall responsibility for strategy, budget, product innovation, staff motivation and training, risk management and service delivery.

    In 2004, Baboucarr and his team won the bankís coveted Cowbell award for achieving the highest year on year revenue growth in the entire SCB group, 53%, a feat that was repeated in 2005 with another group award with the highest year on year growth in deposits. Additionally, in line with the consumer banking divisionís asset led growth strategy, Baboucarr re-launched the personal installment loan product with the introduction of direct sales representatives, which resulted in the portfolio increasing from $1.6 million to $3.8 million in six months representing an increase in market share from 10% to 50%. Baboucarr was also instrumental in developing and launching the first ever-residential mortgage product in the Gambia.

    Before working at Standard Chartered, Baboucarr was Head of Audit at KPMG. The clientele portfolio included Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications, Groundnut processing, Development Organizations, Multi-lateral Organizations, Port and Harbour and Pensions.

    Baboucarr is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. Baboucarr has attended various leadership and strategic development programs at INSEAD, Wharton Business School and the Frankfurt School of Management and Finance. He currently serves on the Boards of Gambia Association of Accountants, Gambia Microfinance Network and NICE Gambia Limited.

  • Fama Sarjo Fye
    Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Fama is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) in UK. She is presently The Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Her main responsibilities include the implementation of the overall risk management policies of the Company and ensuring compliance with the Laws, Regulatory and Supervisory requirements of the country and the Central Bank of The Gambia respectively. She is also responsible for the effectiveness of the internal control environment by ensuring policies and procedures sanctioned by the Board, are being adhered to by the Company. Before taking up appointment with Reliance, she worked as an Assistant Audit Manager with Pannell Kerr Foster a career that spanned for ten (10) starting out as an audit trainee and developing to the position of Assistant Audit Manager. During her tenure with PKF, she managed the audit engagements (statutory and non statutory) for a diverse portfolio of clients both in the private, public and NGO sectors in The Gambia, Senegal and Guinea Bissau. Her portfolio of clients included major economic sectors such as commercial banks, non-bank financial institutions, telecommunications, port and harbor management, manufacturing, hotels and multilateral donor projects.

  • Momodou Joof
    Head Risk Management.

    Joof is a graduate of the University of The Gambia with double majors in Development Studies and History and also graduated as the Best History Student in the 2008 graduating class. Joof also holds a certificate in microfinance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and he is currently pursuing his Master in Business Administration (MBA) with Herriot-Watt University, Edinburg Business School. Prior to joining Reliance, he worked at Kaiaf Basic Cycle School as a teacher where he was awarded the Best Teacher in the Upper Basic category in Lower River by the Gambia Teacher’s Union in 2001. He also taught History in both Muslim Senior Secondary and St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary Schools in Banjul and after having risen to one of the most outstanding History teachers in the country, he was appointed as an Assistant Examiner by the West African Examination Council to mark WASSCE final examination scripts in history.

    Joof also worked with the National Civic Education Council and helped the non-partisan institution in the development and implementation of civic education literacy programmes for the masses. He joined Reliance in November 2007 as an Executive Trainee and from then on, he has handled a myriad of portfolios ranging from Branch Manager – Barra Branch, Head of Sales, Head, Credit Administration, Regional Head – provincial region before his current appointment as Head, Retail Operations.

  • Mustapha John
    Head of Retail Finance, GBA/WCR

    Mustapha has a Master’s degree in International Management (Entrepreneurship & Innovation) from The University of Exeter, United Kingdom and a BA (Hons) in Banking with Economics & Law from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.

    He has ten years experience in the Financial Services and Insurance sectors and has worked both in The Gambia and abroad. In The Gambia he started his career at Trust Bank Ltd, The Gambia, as a Banking Officer. In the UK, he worked for First Assist Insurance Services, now Cigna, as Sales Advisor and The Cooperative Bank, one of the UK’s biggest banks as a Mortgage Account Manager managing a portfolio worth around £30m.

    Upon his Return to The Gambia, he joined Reliance Financial Services as Head of Agency Banking where he led operations to successfully implement our Agency Financial Service business, a first in The Gambia. After making great achievements with the Agency Service, he then became Head, Business Growth and Development, managing all Alternative Business Channels; Agency Service, Internet Service and Mobile Financial Service. Mustapha is currently Head of Retail Finance WCR/GBA managing a greater portion of the company’s core business.

  • Momodou Minteh
    Head of Internal Audit and Compliance

    Momodou Minteh commenced his career with KPMG Gambia as an Accounting Trainee/Audit Assistant in 2001 before joining KPMG Sierra Leone as Audit Assistant and subsequently as Senior Audit Associate. At KPMG Gambia, Minteh participated in the statutory audits of corporate entities in the private sector, Government agencies and donor sponsored projects. The role of audit assistant also offered him the opportunity to lead small project and statutory audits. He participated in a number of special assignments such as fraud investigations and Due Diligence. At KPMG Sierra Leone, Minteh was promoted to Senior Audit Associate leading audit teams in the statutory audits of corporate entities such as Guaranty Trust Bank (Sierra Leone) Limited, Rokel Commercial Bank (Sierra Leone) Limited, Bank of Sierra Leone (Central) Staff Pension Fund, Sierra Leone National Airline Ground Handing Operations, Lintel (SL) Limited, etc.

    He Joined Lintel (Sierra Leone) Limited T/A Africell in 2009 as Accounting Manager. At Lintel Sierra Leone, Minteh was Head of Accounting Department directing and coordinating the activities of Treasury, General Ledger, Payables and Receivables sections of the department. He was also the interface between the external auditors, KPMG Sierra Leone, and Lintel Head Office (in Lebanon) in which capacity he served up to end of 2013.

    Momodou Minteh received and benefited from a number of professional training at KPMG Freetown notably the enhanced KPMG methodology, International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), KPMG audit software (caseware), Audit Team Leadership training, among others. Minteh has vast experience in the field of Audit and Accounting. He is ACCA part qualified with one more paper to attempt.

    He joined Reliance Financial Services on 20th August 2014 and is presently the Head of Internal Audit & Compliance.

  • Kebba Jeng
    Head of Information Technology

    Kebba Jeng is a graduate from the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom, with an MSc. in Information Management & Security. He has worked for many years in the Information Technology industry, working for companies including International Survey Research, Retek and Oracle. Prior to joining the company, he worked for The Shared Learning Trust in the United Kingdom, providing network support for the multi-site education institution. He also has a background in accounting and auditing.

  • Modou Jobe
    Head of Operations

    Modou Jobe is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) UK with over 10 years working experience with FBNBank Gambia Limited, London Mining Company (SL) Limited and KPMG Sierra Leone and The Gambia. He has attended various International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) and Audit Trainings in South Africa, such as IFRS 7 and 9 and IAS 39, eAudiT, Generic Train the Trainer, etc.

    He has served as a Senior Finance Officer at FBNBank Gambia Limited, Reporting and Analysis Superintendent at London Mining Company (SL) Limited and Assistant Audit Manager at KPMG Sierra Leone and The Gambia respectively.

    As Senior Finance Officer at FBNBank Gambia Limited, Modou’s tasks included capturing and analysing daily transactions, preparing and submitting manual and online regulatory returns to the Regulator (Central Bank of The Gambia), preparing budgets and forecasts, analysing financial data, reporting, obtaining and acting on feedback from Management and Head Office in Nigeria.

    As Reporting and Analysis Superintendent at London Mining Company (SL) Limited, his tasks included cost control, preparing budgets and forecasts, analysing financial data, reporting, obtaining and acting on feedback from Management and Head Office in London. He has managed, supervised and acted as team leader on both financial reporting and cost controland analysis roles during his employment with London Mining. He also sat on the budget team that reports to the Board of Directors of the Company.

    As Assistant Audit Manager at KPMG Sierra Leone and The Gambia, Modou’s areas of expertise included audits of Financial Institutions, Mining, Oil and Gas, Telecommunication and Manufacturing Companies, as well as, Internationally Funded Projects and Development Aid Agencies. He has managed, supervised and acted as team leader on the audits of a number of Financial Institutions, Mining, Oil and Gas, Telecommunication and Manufacturing Companies, as well as, Internationally Funded Projects and Development Aid Agencies. He served as an eAudiT Champion, a Team Leader for Risk Management and a Trainer during his career with KPMG Sierra Leone and The Gambia.

    Modou is currently heading the Operations department at Reliance Financial Services, overseeing the Company’s Branch Network and Back Office Operations with a focus on its operations, customer service, retail deposits, controls, and reconciliations.

  • Mariam Jaye Sowe
    Head of Human Resources

    Mariam graduated with an MBA in International Human Resource Development from the National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. She has worked in the Financial Services Industry for nine years. She started her career with Reliance Financial Services before joining Standard Chartered Bank where she worked for a period of 4 years which gave her significant work experience in the area of banking. She rejoined Reliance in 2015 and is currently heading the Human Resources Department, overseeing areas related to recruitment, training & development, talent management and reward & compensation.

  • Lamin S.M. Bojang
    Head of Retail Finance, Rural Area

    Lamin is a graduate of the University of The Gambia, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Administration, class of 2003.

    In July 2014, Lamin got enrolled for an MBA in International Business, (MBA-IB), Finance at Amity University, India, under the Pan-African E-network project. Programme will extend in March 2017.

    Before taking up appointment with Reliance, Lamin has worked as a school teacher at Sifo Senior Secondary where he taught Politics and History. Prior to that, he served as classroom teacher at Nyakoi Lower Basic School and later as Deputy Head Teacher at Bajakunda Lower Basic School.

    Lamin currently Heads Reliance’s Retail Finance business in the rural areas, covering the North Bank, Lower River, Central River and Upper River Regions of the Gambia. Prior to that, he has served for 8 years in the credit department as Credit Administration Officer, senior credit analyst and Credit Administration Manager respectively. He also had a brief spell of six months as Branch Manager at Barra Branch. As a Credit Analyst, his functions included credit appraisal and assessment as well as risk management and credit reporting. As Credit Admin Manager, he presided over a credit portfolio averaging GMD150 million over the last eight years. As Head of Retail Finance, his main responsibility is to drive the retail banking services of deposit mibilisation and lending to Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SME). This aspect of Reliance’s business is a key strategic move towards financial inclusion especially for the rural poor.

  • Amie Koleh Senghore
    Regional Head - Banjul

    Amie Koleh is a graduate from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA with a BBA in Finance and Business Analysis. She started her professional career in The Gambia with Reliance following her home coming. Amie is very passionate about the community development agenda and has been instrumental in building our community partnership with the fishing folks along the Kombo Coastal areas. Amie has handled different portfolios from being a credit officer in her early days at Reliance rising to the position of Head Internal Audit and Risk Management. A position she held up until her recent deployment to Banjul as the Regional Head responsible for the management of Relianceís three locations in Banjul.
